As we entered 2011, the property market looked particularly uncertain with considerable economic gloom and much of the same forecast as in 2010.

However, we felt that 2011 would be the ideal time to renovate our existing shop premises in the heart of Kenilworth and bring it into the 21st century. From the first week of January, the shop was closed to the general public and all access was from the rear to our three small private offices, while the major refurbishment was undertaken to the front show room with removal of the former window, removal of all floors, displays, ceilings and joinery. After 6 weeks of full refurbishment and reinstallation, the new face of Boothroyd & Co opened to Kenilworth. Needless to say, during the time of operation the office successfully succeeded and exceeded sales targets for January from previous years, in what were very cosy and friendly conditions at the rear of the premises!

The year has progressed with much enthusiasm from the staff in difficult trading conditions yet always being positive, helpful and hopeful.

The new office has certainly helped in creating enthusiasm within the staff and from our clients who all feel comfortable and relaxed in the new surroundings. During the year Julie Wyatt has been with us now for 10 years, Gary Simcox the Sales Manager has been with us for 10 years from January 2012 and the other staff members remain unchanged and we thank them for their loyalty and professional service to our clients.

At the beginning of May we launched our iPhone App which is available to download for free for all iPhone devices. We were the first agent in town to offer this service and this shows our determination to keep up to date with technology whilst retaining our traditional ethics and service.

Kenilworth has continued to surprise us all as a vibrant, prosperous and highly attractive and well demanded location, for new residents to the area and those who remain within the town obviously appreciate community, environment, education and welfare.

The rental market has continued to remain buoyant with continued demand from the University, Westwood Business Park, surrounding major employers and within the local community. The Lettings department has exceeded targets for 2011 due to their continued diligence, attention to detail and thorough hard work.

The prospects for 2012 are unknown as I send you this letter, although we will continue to always strive to offer the best services and advice to our clients, taking into account the current national and local economic conditions. We will always try to achieve the best results for all our clients under the circumstances we have.

May we all at Boothroyd & Co wish you and your families a very happy and joyful Christmas holiday period and a successful and healthy 2012.
